Private LTE and 5G wireless networks offer significant advantages over Wi-Fi, including extended range, higher reliability, seamless mobility, lower latency, and robust security. Private 5G supports advanced features like network slicing for optimized resource allocation, ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) for mission-critical applications, and cost-effective, medium-bandwidth Reduced Capability (RedCap) 5G for IoT devices.

Despite these benefits, private wireless network rollouts can be complex and are often delayed by interoperability issues between the software-based core, LTE or 5G radios, and application-specific devices. To address these challenges and simplify the addition of private cellular networks, MosoNetworks, Alliance Corporation, and Pente Networks recently launched a pre-configured Private Wireless Network in a Box. The pre-verified kit includes all the components needed to quickly deploy, operate, and manage a private LTE or 5G network.

This article explores how the plug-and-play Private Wireless Network in a Box democratizes connectivity for organizations of all sizes by enabling users with minimal IT expertise to quickly set up the network and optimize coverage, capacity, and security for a wide range of use cases.

What’s in The Box?

Delivering near-instant, high-speed connectivity, the Private Wireless Network in a Box kit includes:

Pre-configured and pre-verified, these kits require only power and backhaul to get started. For larger-scale deployments, Alliance Corporation provides end-to-end support services, including radio frequency (RF) planning, Citizens Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) Spectrum Access System (SAS) registration, and network monitoring and management.

Customizing Private Wireless Kits for Application-Specific Deployments

To meet the requirements of specific indoor or outdoor applications, Alliance Corporation offers three primary Private Wireless Network in a Box configurations:

  • Security and surveillance: Deploy mobile and stationary security cameras with dedicated, secure wireless networks for schools, corporate campuses, military bases, active construction sites, and residential complexes. The outdoor surveillance bundle includes the Pente HyperCore EdgeMini, Moso Canopy LTE or 5G radio, Pente SIMs, a weatherproof enclosure, and a mast.
  • Pop-up networks: Set up temporary networks for events like festivals, sports, races, or farmers’ markets using fixed wireless access (FWA) Wi-Fi. These kits are also ideal for emergency communications and public works when public cellular networks are congested or down. The bundle includes the Pente HyperCore EdgeMini, Moso Canopy LTE or 5G radio, Pente SIMs, a weatherproof enclosure, a mast, and an access point (AP).
  • Point of sale: Provide secure connectivity for point of sale (POS) devices in areas with challenging coverage or where Wi-Fi or public networks may be susceptible to exploits. The kit includes the Pente HyperCore EdgeMini, Moso Canopy LTE or 5G radio, Pente SIMs, a weatherproof enclosure, and POS units.

Scaling for Expanding Enterprise Requirements

As previously noted, the Private Wireless Network in a Box includes the Pente HyperCore, which incorporates a cloud orchestration platform for network configuration and management. When building the kit, Alliance uses this platform to test and verify the interoperability of each integrated component.

Designed as a no-code solution, HyperCore features an intuitive interface that allows customer IT teams without telecom expertise to easily customize and configure the network. This capability simplifies deployment, enabling enterprises to manage radios like routers and integrate them into existing networks using APIs and standard IP routing protocols.

The HyperCore platform is highly scalable, seamlessly expanding to accommodate full enterprise solutions. As new functionality or network layers are added, HyperCore supports additional devices, the latest security protocols, and advanced features such as analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and predictive maintenance.
